Watercolor artist Dave Gano
welcomes you to peruse his
cyber gallery . . .From his Mother Lode abode, Dave Gano captures the true nature of historic gold mining towns, buildings and vistas through his whimsical watercolor paintings. Dave's renderings are cleverly embellished with native flowers, birds, vehicles and cosutmed characters. He uses pen and ink to add detail to his paintings and calligraphy to label interesting aspects of his works.
Gayneaux is the French spelling of Dave's last name, and he uses it to sign his art. As a graduate in history from Cal-State Long Beach, Gano went on to earn a Masters Degree from Redlands University in Education and later earned yet another Masters in History from the University of the Pacific. Over the years he has developed his drawing and painting style around a love of history and nature. His paintings reflect his experiences as an avid outdoorsman and his experiences hiking, biking, kayaking, cross-country skiing and studies of local history.
Dave and his wife, JoEllen, have lived and taught in the Gold-Rush town of Murphys since 1978 where his renderingsof historic local buildings have been widely acclaimed.
